Limits to know before you download
Windows only for now
A macOS version is in development.
One-time download, ~4 GB of free RAM
The tools run on your PC, so the first launch needs a download. Slow PCs or long videos take longer.
Machine translation is not perfect
Names, numbers and slang can be wrong. Review and fix the text before publishing.
English and Chinese
Up to 5 videos per run, each up to 30 minutes. Chinese works but has only been tested on a small sample, so it may be weaker than English.
No voice cloning, no lip-sync
Videos with several speakers or heavy background music are not well tested.
You are responsible for the content
Use only videos you have the right to use and follow the policies of the platform you post on.
Before you download
Is my video uploaded to a server?
No. Listening, translating and dubbing all run on your PC. XHS only contacts the server to check your account and runs.
What if it fails halfway, do I lose a run?
A run is only counted when it succeeds. Errors or stopped runs are not charged, and fixing the text and re-dubbing costs no run either.
How good are the translation and the voice?
Good enough to review and fix quickly, but not a human translation. Names, numbers and slang can be wrong, so read it before publishing. The trial runs let you judge on your own video.
What happens after the trial runs?
You can buy a pack of runs to use up over time, or rent unlimited use by the day. Videos you already made stay on your PC.
Can I use someone else's video?
XHS is a tool for processing video; you are responsible for having the right to use the content and for following each platform's policies when you post.
